What Mesio does on day one
What one recorded visit actually produces, and the longer list of things Mesio holds back until you say so.
Record one visit and you get a finished clinical note, in your own template, with its sections filled from what was said. That is the headline. The more useful thing to understand on day one is the second list, because it is longer.
What arrives without being asked
Once a note exists, several things assemble themselves alongside it.
- Procedures found in what you said, each with its code and its site.
- Treatment plan options, tiered, priced against the patient's actual plan.
- A take-home summary for the patient.
- Coaching prompts about what a claim will need, and things worth a second look.
What waits for you
This is the part worth reading carefully, because a tool that does things on your behalf is only usable if you know exactly where that stops.
- The note is not generated until you ask. Stopping the recording does not start it. There is a Generate button, and it asks you to confirm and pick a template.
- Nothing reaches your practice system without a click. Mesio fills fields and stops. A person reviews and commits, on every route in.
- Procedures found in the chart are proposals. They show up marked as supported by the chart but not yet planned. Nothing joins a plan on its own.
- Considerations are a menu, not a recommendation. Each one offers to be added, discussed or dismissed, and adding proposes rather than changes.
- A treatment plan is not a plan until it is presented and accepted. Until then there is nothing to send anywhere.
That asymmetry is the design. Producing something is cheap and reversible. Committing it to the record is neither. So Mesio is eager about the first and deliberately inert about the second.
What day one should actually look like
Not your busiest day, and not your first perio patient. Record an ordinary restorative visit, generate the note, read it properly, and fix one thing you disagree with. That single correction teaches you more about how the product behaves than an hour of reading.
It works itself out from your practice, so it can never say you are further along than you are.
