Reading the agreement report
Five minutes at the end of the day. What the numbers mean, how to judge a disagreement without trusting either side, and what your ruling teaches it.
Settings → Voice charting → Shadow mode → shadow report. One row per patient you charted, with the day's totals at the top.
The numbers
- Values compared. A site can carry a depth, a recession and a bleeding mark, so a full mouth is closer to four hundred values than to a hundred and sixty-eight sites.
- Agree. Both charts say the same thing.
- Differ, or to check. They do not. “To check” means the other chart came from a picture, so the difference might be the reader's.
- Would have stopped. How many times Mesio would have asked you to repeat a tooth, had the session not been quiet. A count that falls week over week.
Judging a difference
Every disagreement comes with what you need to decide it, without taking anyone's word for it.
- Both charts, on that tooth. All six sites, side by side, with the differing cells marked. A lone “2 versus 3” is hard to judge; the same value next to its neighbors usually is not.
- What Mesio heard. The words, in quotes. Often this alone settles it.
- The audio. Press play and hear yourself say that site, if your practice keeps session audio. It plays the call that matches the measure — the bleeding call for a bleeding difference, not whatever else happened on that tooth.
- The capture. Where the other chart came from a picture, the picture is right there, zoomable.
Then rule
Three buttons: Mesio was right, The chart was right, Unsure.
Ruling is not bookkeeping. It is the graduation statistic and it is how Mesio learns. When you say the typed chart was right, Mesio looks back at what it heard for that site and, when the cause was a misheard word, saves that word against your profile so the same mistake stops happening to you. Unsure takes the site out of the count rather than holding it against either side.
A disagreement is a question, not a verdict. Assistants mistype. Readers misread. Mesio mishears. The report is built so you can tell which, and it never counts a difference against Mesio until you say it should.
Phrases Mesio did not follow
Some sessions show a short list of things you said that Mesio could not act on — a way of moving to a tooth or changing sides that it does not know. Each one shows what it heard, the phrase it does follow, and a Teach Mesio button.
Teaching it keeps your phrasing: from then on, your way of saying it is read as the phrase it follows, with the tooth and side you name. When the same phrase shows up across several clinicians, that is our job rather than yours, and we teach Mesio to understand it for everyone.
