Editing a pill, and teaching your phrases

Correcting a code or a site takes a moment. What matters is what happens afterwards: your correction outranks everything Mesio would otherwise infer.

Mesio will get things wrong. The question that decides whether a tool like this is usable is what happens after you fix one.

Your correction outranks everything

Change a pill's code or its site and it stops being something Mesio derived. It is marked as yours, and from that point:

• It survives regeneration. Rewriting or regenerating the note does not sweep it away and re-derive it. Anything Mesio produced itself is rebuilt each time. Anything you touched is not.
• It stops reading as dictated. Nothing Mesio inferred is left labeled as though you had said it.
• Dismissing is permanent. A pill you dismiss does not come back on the next regeneration. It is remembered as dismissed rather than deleted, which is what stops it reappearing. Saying the same thing again brings it back deliberately.

Teaching your practice's words

Every office has its own shorthand. When you correct a code, you can also tell Mesio that this is what your practice calls that procedure. From then on your phrase is matched before any general rule.

This is the highest-value thing you can do in the first fortnight, because it is cumulative and it is shared across the practice. One dentist teaching a phrase fixes it for everyone.

Moving procedures between tiers

The same principle covers the treatment plan. Rearrange which procedures sit in which tier and that plan stops being machine-arranged. Later rebuilds will refresh the prices, but they will not re-sort your plan. The membership is your clinical judgment and it is treated as such.

If you want the machine's version back, there is an explicit reset. It never happens on its own.
